Feelin' better than GREAT with my Contact Lenses!

I started wearing glasses ever since the age of 15, that's when i came back to Kuala Lumpur from France to settle some things back here in KL. I was walking down Jalan Tun Razak, right in front of Tabung Haji building while talking to my mom about a little something and BANG.

I hit a "No entry" signboard! - Then my mom said, you better get your eyes checked! (Yes, a signboard that big and tall - i can't even see it!). I better get my eyes checked if i were you! So here's my story about the time i started wearing glasses right thru to contact lenses.

Not going to bore you with all the minute details, but started wearing glasses in 1995 - started off with a power of 200 on each side. Today i'm currently wearing contact lenses with the power of 225 on my left eye and 200 on my right eye (haha that's for those who wish to get me contact lenses for any occasion). The power actually fluctuated up and down over the years, i used to wear 250 for one moment but my astigmatism actually reduced by a little bit.

Started wearing contact lenses in the year 2004, this was when i started wearing Acuvue Clear Contact Lenses and found out on the first night that my eyes are "sensitive eyes". Thus decided to not wear contact lenses any more. Little did i know, all contact lenses are not the same and there are better ones which suits sensitive eyes like mine. So here i am today - going to spill all the beans about which contact lenses are best for you! - But for more info, you can always check out http://www.acuvue.com.my

If you ever tried wearing trial lenses and it doesn't really workout for you, don't forget to try out other types of contact lenses. You can always ask your optician for an eye check and suggest what are the best options for your eyes (which contact lenses and power). Now, the main reason that i'm typing all of this out today is to share with you about the different lenses that is made available in the market, especially those by Acuvue by Johnson & Johnson - the brand that is known for decades for its quality.

Trial Lenses
There are many optical shops out there that has supplies of trial lenses for almost every brands in the market, you name it - they have it! What you have to do first is do an eye-check and determine the power that you need for your contact lenses, some opticians say that the power that you need for your contact lenses varies from those that you have on your glasses. To get an up to date reading, ask for a free eye check from your optician.

Normal Eyes
If you feel that you want to try out contact lenses and you don't think that you have sensitive eyes, try out the following Acuvue Clear / Acuvue 2 contact lenses by Johnson & Johnson. At first try, it may take between 5 minutes to half an hour to put on your contact lenses. This is normal as your eyes are not used to wearing contact lenses and it's acting on your reflexes to close your eye lids if something were to go into your eyes. So just be gentle and patient as you need time to apply the lenses for the first time. After a few hours of getting used to the lenses, your eyes may still feel a little bit un-easy - but the condition should be better after a few days of wearing the contact lenses. If you still feel uneasy, take it off and try out the following below for sensitive eyes.

*Acuvue Clear is a monthly disposable contact lenses which offers comfort and ease of use, and are affordably priced to fit your budget. Acuvue 2 are bi-weekly disposable contact lenses with High-Tech Contour Intelligent Design™.

Better Comfort & Sensitive Eyes
If Acuvue Clear and Acuvue 2 doesn't fit your taste, and you'd like to feel fresh and have greater comfort in wearing your contact lenses for longer hours in the day, better moist and you have sensitive eyes - well try these.

Acuvue Advance: Bi-weekly contact lenses with HYDRACLEAR. The silicone-hydrogel material delivers nearly 100% available oxygen to the cornea. Get these for comfort and if you are planning to wear your contact lenses for long hours* (*than the usual).

Acuvue Oasys:
The first time i tried these contact lenses, i thought Acuvue Advance was the best ever! Well i was wrong - Although Acuvue advance contains the properties that made me feel comfortable and great all day long wearing it. Acuvue Oasys was simply better as it feels wetter, ultra smooth and allows you to wear it for long hours* (*than the usual). It is the next generation in silicone hydrogel technology designed for superior comfort, and not forgetting our environment that we're in (in the heat outdoor, air-conditioned offices / colleges / cars). Acuvue Oasys is possibly the most comfortable contact lenses i've ever tried. Acuvue Oasys is a bi-weekly contact lens.

Daily Contact Lenses
1 Day Acuvue & 1 Day Acuvue Moist (with LACREON is yours if you plan to try contact lenses out and know that you have sensitive eyes. Try these out as they are some of the best contact lenses Johnson & Johnson Acuvue has to offer and they are daily contact lenses. Which means, no hassle in cleaning the lenses as you change new ones every day. Sometimes this can be a bit costly - but it is wise to use these during camping, holiday trips and the times that you find that personal hygiene can be a bit troublesome without water and disinfectant. But daily lenses are best as it's contaminant free and keeps you going all day long feeling fresh! Another thing that sets 1 Day Acuvue Moist a level higher than others is that its lenses are permanently embedded with a water-holding ingredient like that found in natural tears.

Define Your Eyes
Acuvue Define - falls under beauty enhancement lenses. It enhances your eyes by making them look bigger, brighter and more beautiful. Almost nobody will know that you are wearing contact lenses to make your eyes more "defined". Let's just say it's a secret between you and me! 2 Options for you either Accent style lenses or Vivis Style.

The Accent style makes you sophisticated and elegant. Your eyes look bigger and more defined. As for the Vivid style, it defines the natural pattern of the iris for a much livelier you! Bigger and more vibrant eyes others will see of you and gives you that expressive look.

That's all i can share with you today about the contact lenses i've been wearing all these while. Been trying out the different lenses available in the market and finally found the right one for me. Currently i am wearing Acuvue Oasys. Every day is a new day for me at work, challenges awaits me as being a producer and radio announcer is not as easy as it seems. There are events to be covered and sometimes work can go on till late at night, at times my eyes feel like taking a rest. But with Acuvue Oasys, i feel much better and i work better all day long.

*This review was done solely by myself and i've tested the different brands of contact lenses available in the market and have found that Johnson & Johnson Acuvue contact lenses are the ones for me and decided to share a couple of information with those who fear of wearing contact lenses and wants to know which one is the right one for them.
