Gong Xi Fa Cai 2006

Blog Update For 29th January 2006 (Sunday)

Happy Chinese New Year to all my friends out there...who are celebrating CNY 2006!!!Well, as most of my friends are Chinese, and they are all busy...collecting ang pow's, balik kampong (going back to their hometown), and busy visiting relatives...

Ruzy, Jared & I had nothing better to do. It was the holiday for us...We decided to go to Bangsar Shopping Center at first...to buy some tickets for a show at Actors Studio Bangsar. Have you ever heard of "Actorlympics"? Well that show on Star World...with the actors acting with each other and interacting with the crowds. Well, they have it here at BSC's Actor's Studio. Come on over get your tickets (at student price) and enjoy the show...it's hillarious!!!

Wanted to buy some shirts and pants from BSC, but most of the shops were closed, so we decided to move on to 1Utama. Wow, parking was so easy...it's never been like this, well the weird thing is...there were so so so many CHINESE people at the mall, i thought on the first day of CNY they are suppose to be at home with the family...but hey, i can hardly see any Malays or Indians there at 1U.

So yea...most of the shops were closed (this shows how many chinese are dominating the business world, oii...what happened to the malays???).Saw my first Lion Dance of the year, it was great tho it was just a 10 minutes show.Had some lecka-lecka...paraded the mall but nothing to do so we moved on to KLCC.

Went to KLCC, and same thing...most shops were closed, wanted to go to Salvatore Ferragamo, but that was closed too. Ruzy wanted to go to Isetan...well..that was closed.

So we ended up walking around, accidentally met up with a friend of mine from APIIT. Wajahat (from Pakistan), we spent some time walking around and joke with each other, we went to Times Book Store, Tower Records...but it was already late, so we had to part.

Sent Ruzy back home and that was my day :) How was yours?

I love this tree, especially the flowers...oh well, Ruzy was hungry..and she absolutely ADORES Chicken Rice, so we decided to go to TCRS.  Posted by Picasa

The Chicken Rice Shop, situates at the ground floor of 1Utama Old Wing, somewhere near Jusco and TGI Fridays. It's in between really...We were hungry, and stopped by The Chicken Rice Shop for lunch...yay, support Jack's mom!!! Posted by Picasa

We were at The Chicken Rice Shop for lunch (yes, lunch at 4 sumthing 5pm...) darn...that was LATE.  Posted by Picasa

We had Chicken Rice @ The Chicken Rice Shop for lunch...Look at that, we had one steamed and one BBQ honey chicken. Posted by Picasa

We went shopping in 1Utama, Ruzy went into this shop...and found a gift for Arlea, but her birthday is a long more way to go. Posted by Picasa

One wrong move can endanger the lives of the dancers inside this costume. Posted by Picasa

The lion has to dance from one end to the other end of the metal plates thats elevated at different heights. The cultural performance would usually end on the stage where an offering is made to the lion. An offering such as mandarin oranges (etc...) are made then the performance ends. Posted by Picasa

It is a custome to have the band together with the lion, to perform this lion dance. The sound coming from these instruments creates a different feeling towards the environment you are in. Posted by Picasa

The lion dances on these metal steps thats only enough to fit both their feets. It takes much practice to dance on these metal plates, as any one single wrong move can put a stop to the dance and the ceremony. Posted by Picasa

Such a nice pic...anyone can do better? Posted by Picasa

There are different types of the Lion dances available...some may even have 3 people inside it...i think. Posted by Picasa

It was the end of the Lion Dance performance, oh is it a lion or a tiger? Anyways...ahah..you all got conned, those are real humans under the shape of the tiger. Posted by Picasa

Suddenly, i feel like i'm in China...seriously, some shopping malls would really go all the way in making a big decoration for these festivities.  Posted by Picasa

As usual, when i'm in 1Utama, i'd be eating Lecka-Lecka, but now its known as Gelato Fruity. Look at those gelato's... Posted by Picasa

Went to Gelato Fruity (used to be known as Lecka-Lecka). Got a double scoop ice cream, one chocolate and one blueberry. Posted by Picasa

Me and Ruzy, we were at 1Utama, just walking around to finish off Lecka Lecka ice cream, someone didn't wanna come into this picture...i wonder who. Posted by Picasa

Look at the CNY Display @ KLCC, nice but quite lan-c la KLCC, don't let people go into the display set.  Posted by Picasa

See all the good stuffs that gym has given to me...i've lost so much weight and here i am...eating Kingpie's "Black Pepper Steak" pie...yummy!!! Posted by Picasa
