Time for much love, giving without expecting any in return - the spirit of Christmas is within us! LOVE, AFFECTION, GIVE, COMPASSION, UNDERSTANDING it all sums up to one thing - and that's YOU!

YOU can make a difference this Christmas by celebrating with everyone, share the LOVE...

Anyways - this year's Xmas eve was a little bit different! Nothing fancy, just like the olden days - the true spirit of Xmas celebrating with family / closed ones... in not a fancy kind of way. Just simple light dinner between close friends and supper too! Exchanging gifts and catching up with one another.

This is the time when you really find out when was the last time you had a real chat with your friend! Spare a moment, meet up with them... and talk all the way! It's your turn to make a difference!

This year - i find that giving presents to friends that didn't even expect that you'd get a gift for them is truly amazing. You can see the smile on their faces, it changed from ok to GREAT! For some who are sad, down, emotionally depressed... it turned them a whole 180 degrees.

Anyways - not going to crap so much here, let's enjoy the photos shall we! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Yes, you got that right!!! - The title for my blog update is suppose to copy "TDTESS - The Day The Earth Stood Still" - but as always tak jadi... hahaha! Merry Christmas to you my friends who are reading this!

Updating my blog takes some time - but what makes it more special is that you guys are still here waiting patiently for the updates! Cheers buddies... :)

Anyway - last tuesday night! Decided to have a small get-together with a couple of friends to pass'em their Xmas present that i got from Singapore! Yes yes, this year Santa Clause is early and i'm not even dressed up in RED - however am carrying BLUE paperbags from Takashimaya @ Singapore.

Thanks to Jon Ming, Hann Tsong, Joey, Joveena, Kevin and Nico for coming here on this night! Really appreciate you all taking time out from your busy schedule!

This year's theme on Xmas presents for me is - presents that suits your needs! (not your wantts!). Yes yes... what you get this year is what you really need! Check it out...

Hannah Tan's Farewell Party...!

My friend, Hannah Tan - who is not just a model, singer, songwriter, composer, host but also a great friend for all as she's one of the few people among us YOUTHS that are keen on making the difference and is really trying her very best to make THAT difference in our lifes.

The H-Factor event which took place last month helped empowering youths from all over the nation to give them that extra edge that would make a difference in the coming years... Anyhow - Hannah Tan is leaving for Japan for 2 years to further her career there!

One of the very few local celebrities who is stepping out of the country to showcase Malaysia to others! That's one great thing that i love about her, its like as if she has no boundaries and wouldn't mind going far stressing herself to do something good.

Let's all wish her all the best eh! Anyways - Hannah invited me to come for her farewel party and there i was! Met up with some old friends, long lost friends and also some friends from the industry such as Harith Iskander, Hans Isaac, Daphne Iking, Tony Fernandes, Serena C, Pietro, Jason Lo, Non of LiteFM and many others!

11 Premiere Tickets - 11 Friends - 11 Different Lives - 11 Happy Souls... that was what happened last night! My friend gave me 12 tickets to the premiere screening of TDTESS of which i invited 11 friends of mine to join in and so we did! Was suppose to watch the press screening last week but was too busy in Kelantan!

Anyways - it was a nice outing with friends over dinner and some that i haven't met since college time and some i haven't seen since like half a year ago... Hahha ok ok now let's get on with the pictures!

Whoa, i have been away for quite a bit! Worry no more as my blog updates will be pretty much on a regular day-to-day basis from now onwards! I know i've been saying so for the past few months and haven't been keeping up to date! But hey - at some point of our life we have so much that we need to do and not have enough time. Yep - i bet some of you hoped for a 30 hour day instead of the 24 hours so we can have more time to sleep and more time to do our work rite! Hahah...

Anyways - lemme just insert a lil' something from "THE LOVE GURU" about his statement on being "nowhere" to "now-here" Hahah!! Well here i am now here to update you about my life to share the excitement and hopefully help you in a way or the other like how i always have been trying to.

The reason why this blog was created was because many of you my friends been wondering how its like the life in the entertainment & broadcast industry! Well - here it is sharing with you the experience that i never had once upon a time before! And hopefully it will help you to choose what line you want to be in for the near future!

There's so much to share about one's life and experiences - and it will all come in stages! This is what i like doing, so let's share it out! Anyways for now i will update you about the event @ Ministry of Sound - EUPHORIA where i was invited by the Melium Group for their "Style Rocks Party" and so i invited my friends along to the event!

It was an astonishing event, with fashionistas from all over Malaysia coming here to the event just for the night to see what the Melium Group has to offer (Melium brings in most of the designer brands in Malaysia).

FULLHOUSE: A brand new experience in Damansara for you! This lifestyle store and cafe is somewhat almost the same concept as The Apartments! The price list on the menu here at full house (serving local and western dishes) will not burn a hole in your pocket like others do! But it's filled with choices of main courses that you may not find at other places.

The taste here is unique, and the ingredients used are fresh! You can feel it and taste it when you eat their famous Chicken Chop here! It's juicy right up till the very last bit!

Have a try, google FULLHOUSE for its exact location! I don't really have the exact address or what! Will try to find google map to direct you guys here! But certainly WORTH it to try and chill out place!

Not forgetting - the 1st ever 3 storey-high STARBUCKS COFFEE in Malaysia is located here! Check it out...

BOLT - The Grand Premiere!!!

Last monday was the grand premiere of BOLT for XFM listeners! And i managed to get 17 tickets for the premiere! Whee... Well went with all 17 friends but didn't manage to snap photos with everyone! So yea... hahaha let's juz chill and have a look at some photos taken during dinner and after the show!

Btw - BOLT is a good show both for kids and adults! It has a story in it, well apart from sending out the msg about "family" and "friendship", well its the same everywhere! But then again Madagascar 2 has more than that actually! But hey BOLT is approaching it from a different concept and all!

Anyways, hope you guys have fun watching BOLT in the cinemas :)

Recently i got my hands on the latest addition to the N-Series family! the N96, and here's a short simple look at the multimedia computer!

The Short & Sweet - Simple Review:

Nokia's latest is not just a mobile phone, it's a multimedia computer which has an MP3 player, Movie Player, Gaming console, Web-enabled, GPS and much more. Oh yeah, not forgetting it can also be your external hard drive with its onboard 16GB mass storage space.

When you're on the move, storage is out of the question for the N96. With up to 24GB (16 internal + 8 on optional microSD) of memory for music, pictures, videos and more. Talking about its size, well it's compact and lightweight too!

Nowadays, the needs to have photos that you have taken at your fingertips and showing it to your friends is an added advantage when you're out with your friends! So why not, show them your photos on your phone! Not forgetting if you're bored - you can always watch videos which are of DVD-quality.

The N96 features a boastful 5 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics with LED flash for high quality images. Yes, i tried it myself! Will share it with you guys in a bit! The photos taken with the N96.

If you ever got lost! Or just simply want to discover new places to drop by... there's GPS on the N96 with A-GPS (Assisted GPS).

Superb phone! Nokia recently came out with the N95 Version 2 with 8GB on board memory, that was the BEST phone ever with great capabilities! But this N96 - is far much better. Once you got your hands on it, you'll be hooked!

Why i like it so much is because it's screen is just so amazing! Imagine you watching The Love Guru on the screen, it's of DVD quality and the size of the screen is awesome! Going at 2.8inch, 16 million colours QVGA display. That's big enough for you to have a clear view on what you're watching here!

Here i'd like to share an in-depth on the kind of music the N96 can play! Well being a person who simply LOVES music and being on air announcing! Well i love listening to songs and this piece of art here supports MP3, AAC, eAAC, eAAC+ and not to forget WMA.

NGage games - well that's another story to talk about the NSeries phones by Nokia. Asphalt, Star Wars THE FORCE are something that i look forward to try out! It's simply different than your previous experience playing games. Definitely far much better!

Well all in all - i just have to say that i simply love the N96 as it replaces all your other gadgets and put it all into one simple multimedia computer boxed in to look like a phone, the Nokia N96.

Imagine this, not having to carry your other gadgets with you saves space and time too. Imagine having to carry 5 gadgets with you wherever you go. And lugging your digital camera along with you that's nasty. Well i tried that, it wasn't something that i looked forward to - so yeah i am happy to use the N96 camera (seriously, me being a photographer... i don't mind and am happy with the results).

Next update on the N96, will feature the rest of the features in a more in-depth detail for this new member of the N.Series family!

Microsoft Bluetrack Technology...

Have a problem with your mouse? Can't seem to use it on your table? Maybe it's not that accurate and sluggish if you were to use your mouse on your marble table or all glass table. We all have problems with something and sometimes it doesn't help that your mouse have a problem with the surface that it's in contact with when you really want to get something done.

Well, Microsoft has done it again! The Bluetrack technology now enables you to use the Explorer Mouse / Explorer Mini Mouse on almost any surface! Yes... you got me right! Almost any surface... no more problems with sloggish detection of the surface and finding your cursor on your screen not moving along right. Bluetrack technology solves the problem.

Now Bluetrack technology exist on 2 models, Explorer Mouse and Explorer Mini Mouse. The Explorer mouse is meant to be used for your desktop and the mini mouse is meant for those who are always on the move with their notebooks.

Sophisticated design on both bluetrack mice and ease of use is at your fingertips. There's a chrome trim and blue lighting around the bottom rim of the mouse which in return creates a soft glow and set the device apart from anything else on the market.

Some of you may ask if this is a left-handed / right-handed mouse? Well this is a right-handed, ergonomist-approved design mouse. You may use it for hours and won't really feel the heat! Both runs on a 2.4Ghz wireless technology which in return allows you to use the mouse up to 30 feet away.

One of the many things that i like about the bluetrack mouse is that you can use it on any surface. There was once that i was on holiday back in Penang for Hari Raya. Stayed at this hotel where the table top surface was black marble! Thinking that my blueetooth laser mouse can detech the surface, well i was wrong! Had some trouble with the surface as i wasn't able to move my mouse at all. I thought there was a problem with the mouse, soon as i tried using a brown color book to put it below the mouse, it started working. Well if only Microsoft's Bluetrack Mouse came out back then i wouldn't have had this problem in Penang.

Let's Read in Bahasa Malaysia... (Lost World of Tambun)

Kalau anda suka cabaran dan nak keluar daripada suasana yang sibuk di ibu kota, jom kita bersama sama ke The Lost World of Tambun di Ipoh. Pada 2 minggu yang lepas, Shaz bersama dengan kawan kawan Shaz bercuti ke Ipoh. Bukan untuk sesaja-ajer ke Ipoh untuk cari makan, tapi untuk meneroka taman tema yang lain daripada yang lain di Sunway City Ipoh.

The Lost World of Tambun (LWOT) bukan sahaja sebuah taman tema untuk korang mandi dalam kolam air yang ber-ombak, ataupun naik "rides" yang cool! Tapi ia seperti korang balik ke "Tambun" pada 400 juta tahun yang lepas. Ia juga mempunyai taman rekreasi di mana korang boleh camping, jungle trekking, teambuilding, cave exploration, dan juga rock climbing.

LWOT mempunyai lebih daripada taman rekreasi, ia juga mempunyai 5 element yang COOL! Using a free gmail account, everyone can have access to 7Gb of MP3 file storage. Not only it is free,
but also quick and easy to setup.

So, how does one use their Gmail email account as a MP3 Player? Follow the information as listed below:

1. Create a new Gmail account - You should create a separate one specifically for Mp3 files only, and
be sure you keep your account information (user name and account passwords) somewhere safe.

2. Open your gmail account and email the mp3 to yourself as an email attachment. The new email
will appear in your gmail inbox. You can then play it as a music file using the play command
(just below the music file name itself) This will invoke a gmail Mp3 player.

Tips:
A great tip is to add the artist name, album, keywords and other information within the email.
This will allow faster searches for your mp3's within your emails.

Also, to save gmail storage space delete your sent emails from within the sent email folder.

Last week i was just at the Curve for lunch with Kylie and Isaac. It was actually to celebrate Isaac's belated birthday celebration! Wheee.. the dude is OLDER by a year now!

Anyhow... there was this Halloween Costume Party that's going on @ OUTPOST on Halloween Night! So there was a showcase of characters parading the concourse level of Cineleisure on this day! They were awesome... Jedi Knights, Hell Boy, Incredible Hulk, Red Alert 3 Girl, Freddy Krueger, Commander Chaos and many more...

This month is going to be a PACKED month for me! - Invited to a whole lot of movie premiers, already had Quantum of Solace 007 grand premier screening last friday, Madagascar 2 last wednesday!!! - Coming up Microsoft events, Sony Ericsson and many more! - Oh not forgetting KLIA, more maiden flights coming up!

Been working the past few weekends... was hoping to get some rest on weekends but oh well need to go on air, events and the next few weekends i have these lined up.

This weekend, i'm invited to The Lost World of Tambun @ Ipoh for an all expense paid trip there with my friends. Next weekend got invited for another all expense paid trip to Awana Kijal Terengganu, - checkout the city and the town! The week after that is another trip to The Lost World of Tambun again! OMG... IPOH people are LOVIN' me! :P

Quantum of Solace 007 - The GRAND PREMIERE

Last friday 31st October 2008 was the Malaysian Grand Premiere for the members of the media to watch QUANTUM OF SOLACE 007. Yes, Jomi & I and the rest watched it 6 days in advance, which is October instead of November its release date. Having the chance to watch Quantum of Solace before its release date was wonderful!

Definitely one of the main movies we've been waiting for this whoel year! The most awaited finally reached the cinemas! By now you would have either watched the premier of Quantum of Solace or today itself you would have gone to the cinema to buy the tickets for this movie. Well good for you as you will enjoy 2 full hours of action packed scenes. But as for the others, this is a continuation from Casino Royale. So you better watch CR first before watching this film.

It is a great film for some, an ok for the rest... i would say that Quantum of Solace 007 can do better if it wasn't a continuation from the previous Casino Royale. The storyline was something that you could have pictured it to be... so notihng much there! Next time then Daniel Craig!

H-Factor: Youth Creative workshop

Hannah Tan & Friends recently made a nationwide tour for her "H-Factor" Youth Creative Workshop and last sunday was the final stop over for this bunch of young & dynamic team! KL was the final one but with more to come next year. This was just the beginning of H-Factor...

I first got to know about this event about a month plus ago... when i was just randomly SMS'ing my friends those that i havent chatted with for a while and Hannah was one of them. She then replied back to me and whoaa she has a busy schedule. Nonetheless she took the initiative to organise such events! Well - what can i do to help out? So i offered to give her a slot for an interview on air after her first workshop in Penang and followed by Public Service Announcements on air.

Anyways, long story cut short - i wasn't able to meet up with her till last sunday as my schedule oso busy! LOL... I wasn't able to be there for her interview on our prime time guys. So yea... it was great to meet friends at the H-Factor event last sunday, got the chance to meet up with old friends that i haven't seen for half a year! Whoaa.. ok ok.. now the PHOTOS!

Grand Premiere (Press Screening) of 007, Quantum of Solace...

Last FRIDAY 31st October 2008 - Jon & I went to watch the Special Press Screening Grand Premier of Quantum of Solace 007. It was grand, there were loads of people... as usual no cameras, no phones allowed.

Not going to spill too much to y'all before you watch the premier of 007 this week... but i can just say this it's GOOD, it's GREAT, it's worth the wait! But perhaps there's too much of killing, too much of action, not enough the usual stuffs that u see on a 007 movie. Less chatter and more actions! So it really depends on what you expect of this movie! So for movie buffs like me, i actually need a balance of both! But since this film is all about the continuation of the previous one which was Casino Royale... don't expect too much of chatter from Daniel Craig! - he's extremely mad and in LOVE!

A full review on the film with great pictures will only be released tomorrow - so catch you back at here!

What can be more romantic than having dinner with your loved one?

The answer is simple... do something good for the environment! That was what i did yesterday (Sunday) at ASWARA (Padang Merbok KL). It was the 2nd day for the Eco Film Fest 2008 where everything was all about saving the environment, ways to help passing on messages to our friends on saving the planet and plant more trees!

Yes, everything there yesterday was ECO FRIENDLY! There was even a car which had a hybrid engine! Now that's awesome... The day went on and on with performances by local bands such as Reza Salleh, Mia Palencia, One Buck Short, Peter Hassan and Markisa and many more...

Old friends came down to the event too! Met up with Nana, Sufian and there was this Prize Giving Presentation that was attended by the Deputy Minister. And I was offered the chance to give the award to one of the winners of the film directors on this day. Audrey who won 3 awards in a row... really deserved this moment in her life!

Apple Releases new "Unibody" MacBooks

This whole month we've been talking about making the environment greener and saving the world by planting more trees and recycling. Well sometimes we just can't help it cause there's a need for us to print stuffs, read, and buy things which sometimes does or does not use eco-friendly materials. And there are times that we forget to recycle and just say there's always a next time to start doing so. Well that time is now for you!

For others like Apple they have done a huge thing to help reduce the usage of materials made by fiber by making their boxes smaller than usual and making their products all recyclable and eco-friendly materials. This is the advantage of the newly improved Apple notebooks. Other than that there's a myriad of improvements that you may find in this new generation of Apple Macbooks with its "Unibody" design. Before we head on to introducing to you the new MacBook family... i just want to share with you my experience of using the Apple iPHONE! It's awesome i tell ya... recently i felt like getting a new phone! My phone has been overly used, dropped like 100 times... it's time to get a new phone. Almost wanted to get another phone similar to the iPHONE...after using it out for a bit, felt that the iPHONE was a much better / user friendly phone.

Inconjunction with Malaysia Environmental Week 2008, we at XFM and hitz.fm are joining teams to collect as much as recyclable items as possible from YOU at our cross-over locations throughout the last 2 weeks. After that, what happened is we will sell the recycled items for cash and in return use the money to purchase trees to make our place, a greener world to live in!

Do your part in this environment that we live in! You can make a difference. Really... it takes one to start something, the rest will follow real soon! And so we did... collected old newspapers, cardboards and all.

Tuesday (28th October 2008), I went to the Recycle center @ Jalan Tandang Petaling Jaya (which is in the industrial area in PJ). Together with the XFM StreetSurfers and hitz.fm Cruisers, we deposited some of the recyclables and got about RM 165 around there.

YAYYY...now we can use the money to buy TREES!!!

They even have a truck to move the papers around. Making their job faster and time efficient.

Project "Knock" - Knocking All Doors Downtown...

Knocking all doors at downtown KLCC, these bunch of students from Taylors College knows best how to party and make what usually looks like a mundane event into a really hyped up and way out of this world with local artists performances and a myriad of entertainment all night long.

Project KNOCK - Empowering Urban Youth is a project organised by a group of students whom calls themselves the KNOCKers from Taylors College School of Communication, aims to raise monetary and non monetary funds for shelter homes numer 2 and 3 which are for teenage boys and girls aged 13 to 18 founded by Shelter Home. The purpose of tihs project is to advocate public awareness and understanding the state these youths are in. Tehy aim to heighten awareness amongst other college students and young working adulds regarding these youths and at the same time, raise enough funds to purchase better books and other equipments needed for these youths.

The finale, A Knock To Remember - an event at the Apartments - downtown KLCC sees over 200 teenagers embracing the event together with few local celebs, members of the media, radio announcers, and not to forget Me! :P

Hehe, what can i say! The event was great - FOOD...ahaha let's not mention HOW MUCH I ATE ON THIS DAY! :P It's great to have met some of my friends that i haven't met for a long time here on this night! A night to be remembered, have fun looking at the photos below!

Feelin' better than GREAT with my Contact Lenses!

I started wearing glasses ever since the age of 15, that's when i came back to Kuala Lumpur from France to settle some things back here in KL. I was walking down Jalan Tun Razak, right in front of Tabung Haji building while talking to my mom about a little something and BANG.

I hit a "No entry" signboard! - Then my mom said, you better get your eyes checked! (Yes, a signboard that big and tall - i can't even see it!). I better get my eyes checked if i were you! So here's my story about the time i started wearing glasses right thru to contact lenses.

Not going to bore you with all the minute details, but started wearing glasses in 1995 - started off with a power of 200 on each side. Today i'm currently wearing contact lenses with the power of 225 on my left eye and 200 on my right eye (haha that's for those who wish to get me contact lenses for any occasion). The power actually fluctuated up and down over the years, i used to wear 250 for one moment but my astigmatism actually reduced by a little bit.

Started wearing contact lenses in the year 2004, this was when i started wearing Acuvue Clear Contact Lenses and found out on the first night that my eyes are "sensitive eyes". Thus decided to not wear contact lenses any more. Little did i know, all contact lenses are not the same and there are better ones which suits sensitive eyes like mine. If you ever tried wearing trial lenses and it doesn't really workout for you, don't forget to try out other types of contact lenses. You can always ask your optician for an eye check and suggest what are the best options for your eyes (which contact lenses and power). Now, the main reason that i'm typing all of this out today is to share with you about the different lenses that is made available in the market, especially those by Acuvue by Johnson & Johnson - the brand that is known for decades for its quality.

Trial Lenses
There are many optical shops out there that has supplies of trial lenses for almost every brands in the market, you name it - they have it! What you have to do first is do an eye-check and determine the power that you need for your contact lenses, some opticians say that the power that you need for your contact lenses varies from those that you have on your glasses. To get an up to date reading, ask for a free eye check from your optician.

Normal Eyes
If you feel that you want to try out contact lenses and you don't think that you have sensitive eyes, try out the following Acuvue Clear / Acuvue 2 contact lenses by Johnson & Johnson. At first try, it may take between 5 minutes to half an hour to put on your contact lenses. A Week in My Life...

A week in my life - sometimes can be too much to handle!

I was invited to a few events this week where most of the events had either too much food to eat or too many photos to be taken of! Hahaha and not forgetting nice products to take a picture of and perhaps take home for a review.

Talking about reviews, soon you will see product reviews up here on my blog! Yes, SHAZ is Da'Gadget Boy! I simply love gadgets. From iPod's, MP3 players, computer hardware, external hard disks, advanced remote control and latest products in the line... you talk about it - i will have it here for you to read about!

A Knock to Remember!

It's that time of the year again to be ever generous in your givings but at the same time to enjoy time with your friends. Students from Taylors College is organising an event themed "A Knock to Remember" this coming weekend at the Apartments Downtown KLCC to raise funds for one of the shelter homes founded by Shelter Home.

Project KNOCK’s Empowering Urban Youth is a project organized by the KNOCKers. This project advocates awareness and understanding of the state these youths are in.

The students of this program aims to heighten awareness amongst other college students and young working adults regarding these youths and at the same time, raise enough funds to purchase better books and other equipments needed for these youths.

A couple of events were held to raise funds and awareness regarding the purpose and objectives about this project. Just to name a few, events such as the Mini K.O (Knocked Out) which was held to raise funds through the selling of food and beverages, KNOCK T-shirts and various games were held whilst voluntary donations were held at the same time. Awareness was created outside campus which is around the area of SS15 and class to class publicity where candies are sold to raise funds at the same time.

Just the other day, i was at TCPJ - attending the Mini K.O session! I tell you, these bunch are great! Wanna experience an event truly organised by students for students? Come on over this weekend!!!

The final event will be held on the 19^th of October 2008 in The Apartment Downtown, KLCC from 7p.m. to 11p.m with the theme “A KNOCK to Remember”. All guests are expected to be dressed in formal attire.

Can't find the right perfume 4U? FRET NOT!!!

I was walking down an alley on one fine Sunday and saw this graffiti on a wall, spray painted by "TheSuperSunday" about Hugo Energise, a limited spray edition of one of the many ranges of HUGO fragrances in the market.

What i'm impressed about is that this graffiti on the wall kinda made me wanna try out the new limited edition spray by HUGO "Energise". Few days later i headed to MidValley Megamall - the usual place that i always go to check out new stuffs! And there it was, the HUGO "Energise" on the counter for me to try.

Now, let me tell you something about me - YES i am a fragrance lover! I love changing perfumes almost every month! Doing so can be a pain in your pocket - that's because i am trying to find the RIGHT perfume for myself.

You see, everyone has different reactions to various different perfumes. Most of the time there are 2 or 3 different kinds of people's reaction to fragrances. A - either your skin will react to the perfume and let off a great smell for a few hours, B - your skin will not really react to the perfume and the smell is only there for a short while, C - You don't really do well with most "general" kind of perfumes, but on occasions certain perfumes are GREAT for you and stays on for long but hard to find.

For me, i fall in the C category - where not all kinds of perfumes would smell great on me and the smell wouldn't really actually stay for that long, or not even long at all (we're talking a bout 1-2 hours max). FINALLY - I found the right perfume for me, HUGO "Energise", it smells nice, it stays on me for quite a long time and it emits the smell that really makes other people ask "hey, what perfume are you wearing now?"

Haha...really, that was what happened to me a couple of times at the office, at the AEON shopping mall in KLANG (i was asked by a worker at FOS - when i tried out some of the clothes there! yes... she can smell me far!). Feeling noticed is one thing, but feeling better in the inside is another! I felt much more confident this time around with my HUGO "Energise"!

My experience, i'd recommend those who have a hard time finding perfumes that would smell good on them and would actually stay on them for long to try out HUGO "Energise", i know it can be a pain to try out every single perfume in the market! I am truly a gadget person! I just bought myself a new webcam!!! Hahaha...and a mouse too!

When it comes to latest products and getting the best of the best, its a must for me to get it. Recently i laid my hands on one of Microsoft's latest web cams and a bluetooth wireless laser mouse. For today i would really like to share with you my readers about my awesome webcam!

At first glance by the window of this IT accessories shop in Plaza Low Yat, i saw a bunch of webcams, various diffferent brands, sizes, heights and even colors. But what stands out was Microsoft's Lifecam VX-7000, which was like as if it was love at first sight. It has all what i need, yes when i say that i really mean it in terms of applications, tools, design, flexibility and compatibility. That's what important for me and yes not forgetting the color! For some people color is not a biggie, but for me it must mix and match well with my hardware.

The price-tag on this marvelous piece of equipment is < $RM 300 (below). I'm glad you want to know what are you paying for! (You get what you pay for!!!)...

The web-cam's head can only rotate 45' up or down, i only wish it can rotate 90' up down and sideways like my previous web-cam, but all in all it's a good hardware that produces clear images! Yes i tested it with my friend via Windows LIVE Messenger.
I've tested the camera and and compared to other sites and friends who did a review on this hardware, they mentioned that if the camera's resolution is set to anything above 640x480, the images get kinda "choppy". But then again do you really use that big of a resolution all the time for msn or even YOUtube?

It's an awesome piece of hardware, definitely beats my integrated webcam on my laptop and my previous desktop webcam. My first Microsoft LIFECAM and i'm beginning to like it. It's designed to catch the eye of those who are using flat panel monitors or even laptops! Yesss yess we all know the integrated webcams are usually not the best ones to use! So yea, go get yourself this nice piece! The Microsoft Lifecam VX-7000 is the way to go!

But i've only been pranked twice in my life... first was by a group of Penang bloggers (that was more of a revenge coz i kinda pranked all of them before coming up to penang for holidays!), and second was by my boss here at XFM! - Did a gotcha call on me on radio! Like OMG...

Just came back from NUFFNANG's Special Screening of Mamma Mia - The Musical @ 1Utama last night! It was awesome... finally get the chance to meet up with friends, and some familiar faces as well! Point taken, yes films are films but these plays are really good - so why not support the local act, have some fun with your friends. Head on over to KLPac this thursday night!

By the way - my friends Gadiy, Marvin, Johann, Alfred are acting in this play! And i'll be there to lend some support to these guys who are making a difference in the local art scene. So let's support other Malaysians by going for these kinds of events!

KLPac's Curious Residency Showcase kicked off with Helena Foo's After Our's and continued with Mark Beau de Silva's 8 Ways to Lighten the School Bag. Since the entire showcase is a product of talented young thespians, it only seems fitting to finish off with a production by KLPac's Theatre for Young People (T4YP) Ensemble, led by its Director Chris Ling.

One man considers the merits of love and beauty in the course of one night. Sometimes whimsical and funny, at other times poignant and sad, Love & Beauty presents the timeless sonnets of William Shakespeare in a heady mix of musings, poetry, music and multimedia.

I've always wondered how it's like to travel around the whole entire day visiting one house to another, going from one uncle's / auntie's place eat and eat and eat! Well I tried that every year! But after the first 3 house - you can't really eat anymore.

BSAP'08 Commencing from 20th September till 6th December 2008...

A mini art festival to showcase artists work from Malaysia and Southeast Asia. A wide variety of ideas all grouped at this festival showcasing their finest work and to also help them further their direction in this great artistic life.

If you love watching videos which are more than just a mere recording of a director's work and the edit of a video editor on the computer... YOU will LOVE the Bombay Sapphire Art Proejcts this year as the Southeast Asian Video Screening will be held at the Valentine Willie Fine Art Project Room from the 20th September till 11th October 2008. Here you will not only enjoy watching videos from fellow Malaysians, but also those from Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines. Showcasing their work here through video and also art work! It is more than just their masterpiece!

Experimental films is the keyword here - for YOU students from Film Television & Broadcasting lines, just like me - i would LOVE to have a look at these kinds of films as it triggers and stimulates part of your brains to analyse the film other than just watching it. This is a rare opportunity if you were to ask me, watching films at cinemas or on the television - only gives you a mere storyline. These "Art Directors" gives you various trends and styles in video art in different context and even cultures that makes us whom we are (Southeast Asia - a diverse and complex region). If you are a student in this line - be sure to catch this exhibition!

LEVI's 501: I'm a musician contest!

Have you ever though of wearing your jeans "unbuttoned" and it still won't leave your waistline? Awesome innit? Awesome right! Well this is where we have to support our local music industry, Way to go Kenneth!

If we don't support our own local music industry, who else will? That's why, XFM gives you 100% local music content, yes we support Malaysian from all walks of life - YOU have a song and a recording, we'll have a listen to it and help to push it on air. Currently International artists who are Malaysians and is on our charts are such as Che'nelle who is currently living in New York City, not forgetting Mike Chan from the band South Jordan in Boston (a Malaysian drummer who is studying in Boston). This contest was opened from 16th June till 20th July 2008, it's a song-writing contest that welcomes entries from all Malaysians aged 17 years to 28 years old. Then there was a short-listing of the candidates and then the WORKSHOP begins with music industry heavyweights! Then only they perform LIVE at the event at RUUMS KL where invited guests will vote for their favourite song.

The three runner-ups received RM800 in cash, a Levi's voucher worth RM300 and a Levi's Watch each.

Like any other reality TV Show (well this is a LIVE event), there's always votes coming in via SMS and there's also the judges. Judges for the night were none other than NOH (from HUJAN), Muna Noor (Editor Juice Magazine), lead singers from Deja Voodoo Spells - Rithan, not forgetting Frank Ong (Heaed of Performance at ICOM).

Celebrities filled the crowd in RUUMS KL on this night with HUJAN, Point Blanc, Aishah Sinclair, Awal Ashaari, Xandria Ooi, Yuri Wong, Jojo Struys, Nita and many others! Awesome crowd...as we see the local artists supporting these young talents at work!

Emily Yoon - One of those rare young gentle-laadyy you find amongst a group of friends! She's kind, creeeepyyy (JK emily!) and well XianJin says that she acts like a monkey! So yea... she's all that and much more...but the thing here is that she's LEAVING for UK to further her studies... and we all shall miss her so much!

But hey, here's a farewell party @ the Apartments - The Curve last thursday night. Great thing was that i was on leave from work the whole of last week, i gotta clear up my 24.5 days left for my annual leave this year. I already took up 10 out of 34.5!

Anyways... got a whole lot more to go, gonna take 3 more days out for this Hari Raya celebration, goin up to Penang for a week! HEhe... friends up in Penang, let's meet up! Oh btw - next update on my blog would probably be the end of my Singapore 7 day trip and the beginning of my Penang Trip! Yahoo...

Recently, i was invited to Hilton KL @ KLX - to attend a Buka Puasa dinner with Malaysia Airports Bhd. The PR person said that i could invite my friends and family too... so there i was inviting Joey and Julius.

Oh well...the food here is WORTH it! Especially the dessert...aiyoo...i even packed some to go back home with! Hahah without their knowledge of course. This was the first time in this month of Ramadhan that i ate up till my nose! LoL... we ate and ate and ate and we were the last to leave the ballroom. Even our friends from Malaysia Airports had to wait for us. Oh my... so embarrassing!

One of the main things that was nice here tonight was the FRESH AIR FLOWN OYSTERS! And not forgetting the deep fried Tiger Prawn with basil leaves (looks like fish, tastes a bit like fish but is actually Tiger Prawn with delicious meat inside!).

The dessert counter, there was this arabian dessert that i think they pulled in from one of their arabian restaurants in KL Hilton... it was so sweet that i had to save some for supper! All in all - the buffet dinner inclusive of the ballroom and everything else, they charged quite alot per person! More than the average actually - but it is KL Hilton we're talking about! Wanna know how much? Well ask me personally i will tell you...

Just browsing through my busy week / weekend! Let's juz run through some stuffs! Seriously i would want to share a whole lot of stuffs with you my fellow readers! There's a lot of interesting stuffs to read and look at, but time just doesn't permit me.

Sometimes i find myself a little bit wound up about something, and bit too busy with events and trying to catch up with most of my friends. But ended up being a tad bit too busy for blog updates and all! But hey now is the time :-)

Here's a continuation to my blog update for my traveLog to Singapore, on a 6 nights and 7 days de-stress trip to meet up with my old friends from back those days in school!

It turned out to be more than just a de-stress trip, it was so fun that it was the time of my life, a fun filled trip to Singapore. Making it so memorable that i want to go back there!

Next trip to Singapore should be end of the year, for Xmas shopping or something! Not too sure yet but hey i still have my trip to Bangkok and Bandong to post up on my blog! OMG...so many things to update, so little time to put it all up!

Alright...this is part 2 of my Daughtry LIVE in KL Concert @ 1Utama - Yes, i know it was a long wait, but considering the fact that i haven't finished posting up my Singapore trip photos and oh yea Bangkok & Bandong trip! AHwahah... this is not as long as those!

OMG - I'm on the newspaper!!!

Ever since June 2006, i've been appearing on newspapers for various different matters... it started out with getting the Best in PR award @ Curtin University of Technology (LUCCT), and becoming an announcer (radio) on Xfresh FM.
From time to time i'm on magazines and newspapers for quotes for movie premieres, and social life comments on The Sun and various other media. And it went on appearing on The Star for a few other stuffs...

March 2008, one morning - i was waken up by all the SMS that i've been getting on my phone and phone calls! Friends and family members calling me and says "Hey Shaz i see YOU in Bangsar / MidValley / Damansara / The STAR / MalayMail / Sin Chew Jit Poh / Guang Ming Daily and etc..." Although i love my sleep but really thank you guys for letting me know that i'm on the banners and on the newspaper. I didn't know that it was going to go up so soon! It was for this SVENSON Hair Care outlet advert, haha i go there to cut my hair and make sure that everything is all right!

Throughout several months...here and there friends have been keeping me up to date about where my banners have been like the Monorail stations in KL, pillars and all...OMG la! Anyways...

Today my friends and family members woke me up to let me know that i'm on TheSTAR! Wah lao eh... Yes, a very good friend of mine Nicole Tan (of TheSTAR and Blogger) interviewed me several weeks ago and was interested in the life of a Radio Announcer / Blogger. And since i'm maintaining 2 blogs for the current moment and my life is as hectic but as happening as ever she was interested in sharing about my life with others. And here goes the story... XFresh FM DJ Shaz Mukhtar
has a passion for going online

I AM driving. It is pouring heavily and my speedometer tells me that I am not going any faster than 10km per hour. It is 5.30pm on a Wednesday and I am stuck in a jam with two million other people on the roads in the Klang Valley and will probably be stuck here for another hour or so. Brilliant.

I turn on the radio, like every other driver around me is probably doing, to seek some entertainment to distract me from this traffic misery. A booming voice speaking immaculate English comes through the speakers, and I instantly recognise it.

Muhd Shazli Md Mukhtar, better known as Shaz Mukhtar, works from Monday to Friday every week, for only four hours daily, from 4pm to 8pm. And, guess what? His main job is, believe it or not, to talk!

Well, actually that is not entirely true.

Shaz, 25, also gets to meet different artistes every day for the interviews he carries out on the show; attends press conferences, product launches and concerts, and is invited to official launches of restaurants and movie premieres. Sounds like a dream job? Well, it certainly is for this XFresh FM radio announcer.

“It’s not so much about the lifestyle but the things that you get to do and experience by doing these things. It’s like one of those lifetime experiences,” Shaz said.

Tall, dark and handsome, Shaz delivers an articulate speech, especially in English. He was born in the United States and raised in France (yes, he speaks French, too), where he lived and studied for six years before returning to Malaysia to continue his degree course in Film Television & Broadcasting/PR at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Cyber-jaya.

Like most people in his line, Shaz loves his job. He started working as a DJ in January 2006 but has been with the company since 2001, working behind the scene, save for a one-year break in between.

On how he landed his dream job, Shaz said: “We all have to start somewhere and move up the ladder, and that’s what I’ve been doing the past years — gaining valuable experience in various departments in the workplace.”

Named “Chronicles of a Frenchie”, Shaz’s blog (http://shazfx.blogspot.com) documents many of his food entries, travel trips and his personal life. That means you will also get to read about the events he attends and the perks of being a radio announcer.

“I’ve been blogging since 2003, but I stopped for a year or two, then resumed it in 2005 and have continued till the present. I started off blogging with Blogspot and Xfresh’s online website blog system. I wanted something, somewhere I could put up photos of places I went with my friends, a platform where I could inform and keep my friends up to date with the events and happenings in my life,” Shaz said.

However, Shaz believes in keeping a blog personal and that the best way to market one’s blog is through word of mouth.

“One thing I don’t do is promote my blog by asking people to link me or any other means. A blog is a personal thing, but in my case, it’s not that personal any more ... even my clients read my blog!” Shaz admitted.

Despite working in the entertainment industry, he values the times he hangs out with his friends at mamak or coffee shops.

In his free time, Shaz has a passion for going online. From surfing the net, facebook-ing, chatting to playing online games, this DJ is a true born and bred Generation V – Internet generation.

Just recently, i went to collect this brand new collectors edition of LaCoste "Essential" fragrance! Well that's one of my hobbies actually. Trying out new fragrance every month or so!

This time around, well it was my birthday and the best part of it all is LaCoste is celebrating its 75th year anniversary and came out with a Collectors Edition to their "Essential" - LaCoste fragrance. And this was my birthday present to me from the nice people @ LaCoste.

Being the person who i am, i won't buy a new fragrance just because i want to, but if only it suits me and it satisfies me to the max. Very picky i know, but LaCoste's Essential was my choice for this month of July 2008. Happy Birthday Shaz!!! (that's me...oh!).

Essential is one of LaCoste's classic fragrance that not only depicts a men but also his lifestyle. You can smell that classic and elegant feeling once you have it on you or even smell it as a person who sprayed it on them and passes by.

LaCoste essential has a fresh feel to it, yet but the classic feeling too. From other reviews i've read regarding the "Essential", I've been inspired by their comment on the essential having a "citrus" kind of smell. There are many kinds of fragrances out there, it really depends which type you like but the most common type is the citrus and sweet smell.

The one thing that's sure to strike you at first application of the fragrance on your skin is a burst of intense green freshness - yes, and i mean it! The composition of the fragrance has this feel of "Tomato Leaves" and not forgetting "Citrus" - fruit and water as well.

Awww, so sweet! Yes i'm feeling the sweetness in me right now after applying the perfume but let's not also forget the other feel of the fragrance where it has this Black Pepper feel to it giving it a spicy, intriguing sweetness. Different than any of my other fragrances but it's a challenge for me to try the Essential by LaCoste.

Microsoft TECH.ED SEA 2008 - A Success Story

A great event is when Microsoft holds the TECH.ED SEA conference and sees participants from throughout the region. But it became a Success Story when it is held back to back consecutively in Malaysia for the past few years and especially when over 3,000 developers and IT Pros converge to be a part of the experience last 11th August 2008.

The doors opened at the KLCC Convention Center giving entry to participants from 41 countries throughout the region and speakers from various different entities. Imagine what can you learn or find at this convention if you're a technopreneur, IT administrator, software developer, software architect. With so much you can learn and share the future might just be here for you.

I was there for a few days, the keynote speech was amazing! This was my first Microsoft TECH.ED SEA conference that i've been to, i have always wanted to go to the previous ones but failed to do so. But believe me i've learnt so much from the opening ceremony, the speeches shared by the speakers and not forgetting mingling around with the pros!

So if you missed out on this one, and you are one of the above or just a student! (Yess...students too are there to have a feel of what TECH.ED is all about and to learn stuffs), yes one of my friends Wen Loong (from Taylors College Subang Jaya) was there for the event and he gained so much from the conference as he was part of the experience during this 4-day event - Well, only one thing can be said if you missed out. Be sure to come to next year's TECH.ED SEA 2009.

Tech.Ed SEA 2008 featured more than 100 breakout sessions across 12 key tracks, namely Architecture, Database platform, Developer tools, and languages. Not forgetting Office & Sharepoint, Management, Security, SOA and Business Processes. Web and User Experience, Windows Client, Windows Mobile and Embedded, Windows Server Infrastructure and Unified Communications.

If you're an IT student and are studying any parts of these components you will simply love this conference as it helps to share with you the current innovation and technology across the platforms and programs.

Now, if that's not enough! During the press conference it was mentioned by Tyson Dowd (Senior Director, Malaysian Software Economy @ Microsoft Malaysia) that there's even Instructor-Led labs and Hands-on Lab sessions where you are able to evaluate products, smart technologies and computing practices from both Microsoft and a number of its most important industry partners.

Awesome innit!!! - Well over the four days conference, key speakers from Microsoft's top executives and product team members were there to share with attendees of the conference. Who are they you may ask! Haha, none other than Ward Ralston (this guy is funny! Really made the conference hall LIVELY), Steve Riley, Joel Oleson, Tony Krijnen and Loke Uei Tan.

All-in-all, i am pretty much sure those of you who are in college have heard of Microsoft Tech.Ed before as Microsoft did some small based seminars, hands-on lab sessions and exhibitions in several colleges in Malaysia to educate students on some of its products and technology. Most of these are conducted by Microsoft and helped by students from participating colleges / Uni and best of all is that it's FREE!

It was my birthday...alot happened on that day from getting PRANKED by my own boss at the office *ON AIR* and one of the many things happened was this surprise birthday celebration organised by Nico, Joey and Brian! Thx to you lot and not forgetting Kevin for co-organising as well!!! THANK YOU for the wonderful quarter of a century b'day celebration!

I couldn't have asked for more... well i know i kinda had to reject a whole lot of other friends invitation / request for dinner on this night as i was scheduled to work till late at night. Yes, its radio survey month and it's that time of the year where i have to work work work... making sure that everything goes smooth on air!

But really, i will try to accomodate to the rest of the request, till now still got some of you still asking me for dinner / lunch... soon yea!!!

So yea, it was suppose to be a last minute dinner with Nico and Brian...quite late around 9.30 or 10pm, we went to La Bodega in Bangsar where the rest surprised me with a birthday cake! Thank you Joey for the cake!

In conjunction with my 25th B'day this year - 25 tickets were shared between my friends and I for the Sony Ericsson Traffic Jam Street Party for Daughtry LIVE in Malaysia Concert (Thanks to my client SonyEricsson).

Yes, you got that right! 25 tickets, a mixture of VIP passes and eXclusive invites were shared among my friends for this party of the year i would say... A concert which i would say is far greater than any other concerts i've covered this year i.e.: My Chemical Romance, Switchfoot and a few others.

Thanks to Sony Ericsson for the passes, my bunch of friends (you LOT) had a great time! I believe so too coz till today i can still hear the hissing sound in my ear (caused by the cool loud music we had). Their speakers are awesome, blown away i am... LoL!

The concert started off with opening acts by local artists under the SonyBMG label such as Liang (feat. Sayla), Daniel Lee (Malaysian Idol), Stylustiks (Mix of DJ's), Asian Percussion Unit (APU) and right after that Daughtry performed LIVE in front of thousands of audiences!

The hitz.fm DJ's rawked the night by giving away lucky draw prizes such as handphones by Sony Ericsson, bluetooth headsets, bags by adidas and much more! The official stations for this awesome party are hitz.fm and XfreshFM. Surely more to come from these coolest stations in town!

First and foremost, i would just like to inform y'all that none of the photos below in this post or the previous YO!sushi post was edited. All photos are original, no editing was done except for captions placed on the photo.

Anyways i've already informed all my friends whom i will be having dinner with on tuesday night. No it's not really a contest you see, it's just an offering to share what I have with you all as my friends. So yea once in a while sharing some really cool awesome food @ YO!sushi is just awesome. So why not? When you still can!

Last Saturday i went for lunch at YO!sushi with Brian & Jon Ming... wanted to do some food shots and profile shots of me with some sushi! Profile shots of me to be used in any case that i have interviews or what, and for some other purposes.

So we end up taking a whole lot of photos of the new range of food / sushis available on this afternoon. It was fantastic!!! You should really try the dishes they have here. As i was saying, when it comes to Sushi - i definately am one of those kind of people that is pretty strict on what i eat, its quality and taste! Therefore i don't mind paying a little bit extra for great fresh food and comfort. Being in Malaysia, we do have a variety of gourmet food available and quite a range of restaurants to cater to everyone's taste from local, Chinese to western and even Arabian food.

But when it comes to Japanese food, there's very few that really cater to your needs. There's Sushi Kingy, Genko Sush (sorry la my spellig very bad), and the new ones like some Zanmai place in the Gardens and Ichiban sumthin'... well (OMG! I really am bad with names huh), well i haven't personally tried Zanmai but i tried the others...and i tell ya... it's really worth it to try YO!sushi. Take it as a new culture for Japanese food in this 21st century... new way of presentation but still keeping the same great authentic Japanese taste to it like how u want it to be!

Salmon Sashimi...as fresh as you can get! Just flown into the country this morning and straight away delivered to YO!Sushi.

A selection of their dishes...all of these came in at once! I had hard time taking photos or wanting to eat!!!

Now now, have you tried YO!sushi?

I have and i definitely love it! I heard from 2 out of 10 friends that they said that YO!sushi is just ok and expensive but the other 8 out of 10 LOVES it to the max! You see...my judgement on this is that if you want real great food (fresh and great taste) you have to pay the premium price for it! And perhaps my friends who came in only tried the usual sushi that is served on the kaiten belt! But hey some of the best dishes at YO!sushi is found in the menu and cooked right in front of you in their open kitchen, for example try their Black Miso Cod* (this is their signature dish, the best i've ever tasted) and their skewers are worth a try as well. So next time you go to YO!sushi, try out their Black Miso Cod! Yummmmyy...

It was Tuesday (yesterday...) when i went for the Malaysian Media & VIP's Grand Premiere of HELLBOY 2. Was given several cool invites and great seats in Hall 12 @ GSC MidValley. A great hall with THX Sound System...and there we were enjoying the Grand Premiere of Hellboy 2, invited by United International Pictures (UIP).

Some of you may or still thinking of which major to take in prior to entering college...some are thinking about IT, Mass Communication, Network Engineering and etc... Grand Premiere: "Get Smart"

It was the Grand Premiere of Get Smart, starring Steve Carell, (my all time favourite) Anna Hathaway and Dwayne (ROCK) Johnson! Believe me, you will laugh throughout the movie when you watch it! There's much to explain but very little time to type out...so i suggest you go for your pee-break prior to watching the movie!

Like i said...believe me... its so worth it! Anyways... had 10 tickets to this movie premiere, and on the same night i had 8 invites to MADE of Honour, both movies at 2 different locations... so what to do, gave out MADE of Honour invites to some of my friends...hope you guys LOVE it! - Anyways GET SMART was really a good movie! If you haven't watched it yet... go and watch it!

Was here on this night with Jon Ming, Gadiy, Richard, Nico...had a blast in this premiere! The one that i really laughed the most! Don't believe me? Go watch it yourself!

The movie premiere passes! Thx to 20th Century Fox for all the passes!

Dinner was at McD's! No other options as we don't feel like walking far...

Sybil: The Tale of a Patriot...

The Actors Studio @ Bangsar Shopping Center once again holds the place for another local production called "Sybil" - which revolves around a true story about an unbreakable woman back in the 1940s who was captured, tortured and beaten by the Japanese army (more like this Japanese Colonel), one of their clans or something... apparently there are various different groups of Japanese armies clans or something...this one don't like losing a battle. So Sybil (a local Malaysian) was captured and all and didn't break or leak any information about her informants or any news about who she works for and etc... She never did break radio silence! (errr..wat does that mean..?)

OT many people know the tale of Sybil Kathigasu, the gallant nurse who suffered during the Japanese Occupation to save her fellow Malayans from torture.

As many Perak folk know, Sybil’s story is one of sadness and pride. She bravely fronted the resistance movement in her own daring way and thus subjected herself to arrest, torture and war scars that ultimately led to her demise in 1948.

Her spine-chilling tale will, for the first time, be re-enacted in a 100-minute play directed by Datuk Faridah Merican.

Perak Heritage Society president Law Siak Hong said that the society mentioned Sybil’s story to Faridah some time ago, hoping that the heroine’s story could be told in a drama.

“Sybil far surpassed the women of her time. She was probably the only Malayan woman to have been accorded the Hero’s Medal from the British Government in 1947,” he said.

Sybil, who was born in Medan in 1899, arrived in Papan, Perak, where her famed clinic still lies, with her husband Dr A.C. Kathigasu in late December 1941.

“Barely five days after that, a bomb ripped through Ipoh. Sybil endured 20 months of fear and defiance.

“She quietly aided the resistance movement and tended to wounded guerrillas,” Law said.

He added that Sybil was later arrested along with her husband on suspicion of aiding the resistance.

“She was tortured terribly by the Kempetai (Japanese secret police) officers and interrogated. Later, she was thrown into the Batu Gajah Prison and was only released after the war was over,” he said.

Law said that Sybil’s noble acts needed to be remembered by all and that the play would be one way for the public to learn about her life.

He added the play would be based on an adaptation by U-En Ng of Sybil’s own book No Dram of Mercy.

Law said that the play would be a fundraiser and proceeds would help to kickstart the society’s project to document Perak heritage.

“We are using this fundraiser to raise at least RM50,000 through ticket sales as well as individual donations or sponsorships,” he said.

Sybil, the play, will be staged at the Actors Studio, Bangsar Shopping Centre, at 8.30pm from June 12 to June 14, June 17 to June 21, and at 3pm on June 15 and June 22.

In Ipoh, the show will be staged at Taman Budaya Negeri on June 25 and June 26 at 8.30pm.

Tickets are available at RM40 and RM20 (students). For enquiries, call 03-20940400/1400.

The final fundraising show will be held at Taman Budaya Negeri on June 27 at 8.30pm.

Admission is by invitation and reserved seats are available at RM60. Limited free seating is available at RM40 for adults and RM20 for students.

(Blog Update for Bubba Gump @ the Curve)

Have you watched thet film "FORREST GUMP"...well if you have then you might recognise this restaurant or its name "BUBBA GUMP"! OF-COURSE YOU MUST HAVE!!! It's in the movie where Forrest opened this shrismp specialty restaurant together with another fella named XdunnoX Bubba! So they called it Bubba Gump!

Anyways, was there with a bunch of friends... namely Kylie, Chris, William, Joey, Stephen, LyMun, Nisha, Ashleighhhh and etc! Anyways...part of the reason we were here was to celebrate William's bday celebration yO! Hehehe, it was a tad bit too late but hey...better late than never!

Why la late... you may ask! Well, i was in Bangkok and busy with work here in KL! Now finally got some time to gather a few people together! So here we are at this spankin new restaurant called Bubba Gump!

It's Supper Time...time for y'all to eat! Ok we Malaysians LOVE to eat! If you're a foreigner and you come to Malaysia for holidays...touristing around! You will be SURPRISED on the places that you see opened at 3am in the morning and the amount of people who come here to these stalls / restaurants / mamak's to eat at such hour!!!

Anayways, the photos below are from some of my recent suppers with different group of friends where i gathered a bunch of friends with one another, different groups where they all didn't know each other and best part is at the end of it! They are making friendships that's going to last for a very long time!
